Getting tired of the same old found footage films about ghosts and unseen forces? Feel like the sub-genre could do with a bit of an originality injection? Well then how about a found footage horror involving a plane-crash, a secret government area and dinosaurs? This is exactly what AREA 407 (formerly TAPE 407) is offering. My first thoughts on this were that it just sounds too far fetched and unrealistic for a found-footage, but then again so was TROLL HUNTER and I enjoyed that plenty. Also, dinosaurs totally rock. Synopsis: “The film opens with two teenagers flying from New York to Los Angeles on New Years Eve. Their nightmare begins when their plane hits extreme turbulence mid-flight. The handful of survivors from the crash, bloody and disoriented, are then insistently pursued in the darkness by unknown predators that, unbeknownst to them, are part of the government’s top-secret Mesa Experiment.”
