Harry Potter. Horror movie. Hmmmm, not quite sure how I feel about that. I think the trouble with Daniel Radcliffe is that he's played the same character in a bazillion movies now, and I can only really think of him as the boy wizard. Kind of like Brendan Fraser. After seeing him play an idiot caveman in Encino Man, and then an idiot jungle man in George of the Jungle I can never take him seriously in anything else. I always think of him as a dumbass.
Anyway, THE WOMAN IN BLACK is directed by James Watkins who gave us the amazing Eden Lake, and is scheduled to hit theatres early next year. Along with Daniel "Potter" Radcliffe it also stars Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer, Liz White, Alisa Khazanova, Tim McMullan, Roger Allam, and Shaun Dooley among others.
Here is the official UK trailer thanks to Horror-movies.ca.
THE WOMAN IN BLACK hits theatres February 3rd 2012.
Synopsis: “The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.”
